Historia de la banda

Fundado en 1995, en Hannah (Canadá), su nombre viene de las monedas de níquel que Mike Kroeger tenía que devolver a los clientes de la cafetería Starbucks en la que trabajaba. En ella tenía que decir a sus clientes “aquí tiene su vuelto” (traducción no literal de “here’s your nickel back”).

Nickelback fueron ayudados en sus inicios por la ley canadiense denominada Cancon. Dicha ley establece que debe haber un determinado porcentaje de música de artistas canadienses en las radios del país.

Sus miembros son: Chad Kroeger (Guitarra y voces), Ryan Peake (Guitarra y coros), Mike Kroeger (Bajo), y Daniel Adair (Batería y coros).

¿Cómo la conocí?

Me habían pasado un CD con videos, y como no me llamó la atención de un grupo “Nickelback” nunca los mire, y a los 3 meses, volví a encontrar el CD y se me dio por ver los 2 videos de ese grupo… me encantaron (los videos y las canciones) y desde ahí me volví fanático de este grupo… :p

Un dato curioso:

Silver Side Up fue lanzado el martes 11 de septiembre de 2001. Esa mañana el grupo estaba en su autobús de gira atravesando Pensilvania, a menos de 15 kilómetros de donde el Vuelo 93 de United Airlines se estrelló.
